Sunday

La Ceremonia - Ko-Arts hosts this milonga at the Westport Presbyterian Church. There is a class for all levels from 7:30pm until 8:30pm, followed by a milonga from 8:30 until 10:30pm. When Tango Lorca plays live tango music admittance is $10 per person, but usually there is a DJ with admittance at $5 per person, which covers both the class and the milonga. The lesson is most frequently taught by Korey Ireland, but is often taught by others members of the tango community. The church is llocated at 201 Westport Road in Kansas City, Missouri. Monday

Kansas City Swing Dance Club - Toi Shaw teaches beginner and intermediate classes in the lower level studio of the KC Swing Dance Club at 6101 Martway. Mission Kansas. It is one block south of Johnson Drive and half a block east of Lamar Street. The beginning class is from 8:00pm to 9:00pm, and the intermediate class is from 7:00pm until 8:00pm. Classes are taught in progressive 8 week sessions and are closed after the first couple of sessions in a series. Classes are $6 per person for non-members and $4 per person for members. Tuesday

Ko-Arts Tango - Korey Ireland teaches a class for all levels at the City in Motion Dance Studios. The studio is located on the second floor at 3925 Main Street, Kansas City, Missouri. The class is from 8:00pm until 10:00pm. The cost is $5 per person. You can reach Ko-Arts at 816-931-9545.

Wednesday

El Abrazo - Ko-Arts hosts this milonga at Morton Hall. Morton Hall is a quaint location. It is a shabby-chic venue that was once the home of the Westport Ballet. The entrance is in the parking lot behind a row of small storefronts on the northeast corner of Main Street and Westport Road. The parking lot is not particularly well lit, so the entrance is definitely not obvious. But once inside the tango dancing is great! There is a lesson for all levels from 7:00pm until 8:00pm. This class too is most frequently taught by Korey Ireland. The lesson is followed by a milonga from 8:00 until everybody gets tired and goes home. Thursday

Tango con Salsa - The Red Vine “Cajun Restaurant and Jazz House” hosts tango and salsa in a mostly smoke free, all ages venue at 1701 E 18th Street in the 18th and Vine Jazz District every Thursday from 7:30pm until 1:00am. There is a free tango llesson from 7:30 till 8:30 every week with Mitch and Annette Weiner. The DJ provided music changes after 11:30 to include “Alternative Tango”. The cover charge of $5 comes with a free ticket for a weekly raffle with prizes such as VIP passes to area Salsa and Tango nights, private dance lesson gift certificates, and Dance Art. Louis Bar & Company - Michael Rodee teaches this class for all levels at 10409 Marty in Overland Park Kansas. The studio is one block west of Metcalf Road between 103rd Street and 105th Street.
